10. stability and reactivity
Conditions to avoid:
Heating >100 °C may generate pressure due to steam formation from the water present. If very strongly heated, gives off harmful fumes.

Materials to avoid:
This material will react with galvanised or unlined steel, (except stainless steel) to produce hydrogen, a highly flammable gas that can cause explosions. Should be mixed, stored and applied in stainless steel, aluminium, fiberglass, plastic or plastic lined containers.

Hazardous decomposition products:
Carbon dioxide, Phosphorus pentoxide.

11. toxicological info
Formulation:
Oral LD50 (rat) : > 5000 mg/kg- Not classified as harmful.
Oral LD50 (mouse) : > 5000 mg/kg.
Dermal LD50 (rabbit) : > 5000 mg/kg- Not classified as harmful.

Eye contact:
Slightly irritating to eyes but not sufficient for classification.

Skin contact:
Not classified as sensitising to skin.

Inhalation:
Inhalation LC50 (rat) Concentrated product : 3.28 mg/1/4h.

Active Ingredients:
Tests on glyphosate showed that it did not cause any mutagenic, carcinogenic, teratogenic or adverse reproductive effects. It is not neutotoxic and does not inhibit cholinesterase.

Predictive patch testing on human volunteers did not produce irritation or sensitisation. Direct eye contact may cause temporary eye irritation and conjuntivitis. Prolonged or repeated contact with surfactants may cause defatting of the skin and result in dermatosis. If swallowed, may cause gastrointestinal tract irritation (discomfort, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea). If large quantities of the concentrated product are swallowed, may result in hypotension and pulmonary edema.

12. ecological information
Assessment:
Toxic to aquatic organisms.

The following data were obtained on the formulation.

Aquatic toxicity:
96h LC50:Bluegill sunfish Static = 14mg/1; - Flowthrough = 5.8mg/l
Rainbow trout  (oncorhynchus mykiss): - Static = 15-26mg/l; - Flowthrough= 8.2mg/l
48h EC50: Water flea (Daphnia magna):- with aeration = 37mg/l; - without aeration= 24mg/l
Daphnia magna - 21 day exposure in static renewal system: survival reduced 44% at 6.8mg/l and 97% at 14mg/l.  No effects noted for toxicity at 3.2mg/l.  No effect noted on reproduction at any of the levels tested.

Wildlife and other toxicity     :
Oral LD50: Honey Bee (Apis melliferal) = > 100 microg/bee.
Topical LD50: Honey Bee (Apis melliferal = > 100 microg/bee.
14 days LC50: Earthworm (Eisenia foetidal) = > 5000 mg/kg.

Active ingredient: Tests in a variety of mammalian/avian/aquatic species BCF (Bioaccumulation factor) have shown that glyphosate does not bioaccumulate.

Degradation:
A degradation rate of glyphosate was determined in water after 30 days : 77.8%.
