6. accidental release measures
Personal precautions
Use personal protection recommended in section 8. Follow all recommended handling procedures.

Methods of cleaning up
Small quantities flush spill area with water. Large quantities, absorb in earth or sand. Sweep up into containers for disposal. Dig up heavily contaminated soil and place in drums (refer to section 10 for types of containers and drums). Flush spill area with water. Refer to section 13 for disposal of spilled water.

Environmental precautions
Small quantities are unlikely to present an environmental problem. Minimise spread of large quantities.

11. toxicological info
Laboratory data
Oral LD50 (rat):> 5000mg/kg – Not classified as harmful.
Dermal LD50 (rat):> 5000mg/kg – Not classified as harmful.
Overall mean EU eye irritation scores (24hr exposure)(rabbit): conjunctival redness 1.11/conjunctival swelling 0/ corneal opacity 0/ iris lesions 0 slight irritation but not sufficient for classification
Overall mean EU skin irritation scores (OECD test) (rabbit, 4h exposure): redness 0.11/swelling 0: Lesions reversible by 72h – Not classified as irritating to skin. Guinea pig Buehler test: 0% positive incident – Not classified as sensitising to skin

Active Ingredient
Tests on glyphosate showed that it did not cause any mutagenic, carcinogenic, teratogenic or adverse reproductive effects. It is not neurotoxic

Human Data
Formulation: no human data. Experience with glyphosate intoxication’s has indicated that the symptoms (gastrointestinal irritation, hypertension, pulmonary oedema) are due to the surfactant rather than the glyphosate itself. New surfactant: This material is not expected to have severe effects.
