directions and areas of use

time of treatments
Apply from April to late September when the grass and weeds are actively growing. Better control of annual or biennial weeds is obtained if sprayed early in the growing season. Perennial weeds should be sprayed when they are well developed but before flowering. At this time annual weeds may be too large to be well controlled. Effects may not be apparent for 2-3 weeks.

application
Tribute Plus should only be applied through a Nomix TDC applicator. Do not decant Tribute Plus from the original container. Shake the pack very thoroughly and connect direct to the Nomix applicator according to the directions in the instruction manual.

disc selection
The spiral and square discs should be used where the spray width required is less than 0.6m and is recommended where total eradication of drift is required e.g. near shrub beds and confined areas. The narrow swath is also appropriate for spot treatment of turf areas where large pernicious weeds require treament. When using the spiral or square disc at narrow settings of less than 0.6m, care should be taken that the spray quality is adequate to ensure weeds receive an even coverage of spray.

The serrated disc should be used where swaths of greater than 0.6m are required e.g. extensive turf areas.

notes for guidance
Newly sown or turfed areas should not be sprayed in the year of establishment.

When renovating treated areas an interval of 6-8 weeks should elapse before re-seeding.

The first four mowings should not be used for mulching unless composted for six months.

Turf containing bulbs may be treated once the foliage has died down completely.

Do not allow spray drift on to cultivated plants.

Do not apply during drought unless regular irrigation is practised.

Do not apply when rain is imminent (within 6 hours of application).

Avoid spraying during freezing conditions or if a frost is imminent.

Fine turf should not be mown for 24 hours before or after application (three days for less closely mown turf).

A fertilizer application 1-2 weeks before treatment aids weed control.

Heavy infestations and particularly resistant weeds may need a repeat treatment after an interval of 6-8 weeks at the 6 litre/hectare rate.

weeds controlled
Field horsetail: 6 litres/ha will kill shoots and check re-growth.

Common nettle: 6 litres/ha kills top growth when 15-25 cm (6-10’’) high.

Soft rush: 6 litres/ha controlled by treatment in May, June or July may be treated uncut, but cutting 4 weeks before or after spraying improves control.

Sowthistle (perennial): 6 litres/ha kills shoots and some of root up to 20 cm (8’’) stage.

Note: Speedwells are resistant to Tribute Plus.
