DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Restrictions/Warnings

Do not use on fen peat or moss soils.
Do not apply to frozen, snow covered or waterlogged ground or when crop foliage is wet as granules may then lodge on leaves or in leaf axils and cause damage.
Do not apply to sites less than 18 months before replanting or sowing.  Persistence may be longer if the treated area has been cultivated.
Do not disturb treated soil by hoeing etc., or weed control may be impaired.
Do not apply to areas under-planted with bulbs, annuals or herbaceous stock.
Do not apply in or around glasshouses or near hops.
Apply before mulching if this is practised.
Store well away from corms, bulbs, tubers and seed, in cool dry conditions.

Control

Viking Granules is a residual herbicide for the pre-emergence and post-emergence control of a wide range of annual and perennial broad-leaved weeds and grasses.  The range of weed species controlled is listed in 'Weed Table'.

Viking Granules should be applied evenly by a suitable hand or mechanical spreader to the area to be treated.  Local overdosing should be avoided.  Care should be taken to ensure that the granules do not blow sideways and are only applied to the target area.

Application should be made to moist soils, ideally before the end of winter, to achieve the maximum residual activity.  Best results will be achieved under cool conditions particularly if rain falls soon after treatment.  Residual activity is reduced if application is made under warmer conditions.

Under conditions of moderate to severe weed infestation, especially of perennial grasses, a late autumn (November) application is recommended.

TOTAL WEED CONTROL

Apply 225 Kg/ha (22g/m2) to uncropped land such as paths, around buildings, driveways and under fence lines.  Treatment should be made in February - March to give up to 12 months weed control of susceptible species.  Applying lower rates could affect the level of control achieved with less susceptible species or reduce the length of the residual activity.
